Teaching and analyzing baroque keyboard repertoire

An investigation into baroque performance practice through the stylistic analysis methods applied in my Ph.D. thesis. Qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, descriptive statistics, and ratios of musical parameters with tempo and tempo variation. Works by J.S. Bach and C. Graupner are considered. An experimental pilot study done with one doctoral level pianist is presented.

Interdisciplinary research and music performance analysis : a study on J.S. Bach's Partita in C minor

Based on my prizewinning article from 2019 published in the Revue musicale de l'OICRM, this conference presents an original approach to analyzing the creative process of interpretation. Through a case-study of one pianist, three contrasting styles are presented using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. Powerpoint presentation includes short audio clips.
